If you do, you will be able to change the appearance of that character using Pearl Abyss’ advanced customization system.” Very little is known about each villain thus far, since only brief glimpses of these characters have been shown in the reveal trailer and gameplay reveal trailer. “In addition to the main story, however, you can create a separate character in Another Journey (tentative name). The villains of Crimson Desert vary from dangerous creatures found throughout the wild, to powerful figures acting from the shadows. “MacDuff’s cosmetic appearance can be changed depending on the equipment, but his face is not customizable to convey the story more naturally,” the developers explain. The title started as the prequel to Black Desert, but during development Pearl Abyss began to create an entirely different storyline and a whole new set of characters. For the multiplayer part you then create your own, additional character. While the name Crimson Desert was originally a region within Black Desert, Crimson Desert is in fact not a sequel, but a whole new IP. With him you will experience the single-player story. A story of survival, Crimson Desert follows a group of struggling mercenaries and the many characters who cross their paths in the vast continent of Pywel.
You take on the role of the mercenary MacDuff, who will be a predetermined character.
